Winter Maintenance

J W Crowther & Son Ltd are one of the country's largest privately owned winter maintenance contractors via their subsidiary The Gritting Company. We are able to provide a full winter maintenance service throughout the mainland UK & Northern Ireland.

The service includes the monitoring of weather forecasts, supply and spreading of rock salt and snow clearance. Our regular clients include supermarket chains, retail outlets, shopping complexes, hospitals, factories and property maintenance companies.

The service is tailored to each customers specific requirements. Gritting crews are kept on standby to carry out the service 24hrs a day, 7 days a week throughout the winter season. All vehicles are fitted with GPRS tracker units, enabling accurate monitoring of the gritting services.

The Gritting Company's equipment is strategically located throughout the country ready for action when required. Weather forecasts for the whole country are monitored at their head office in Leeds and acted upon when the conditions dictate. We supply emergency telephone numbers to all our clients.
