Established in 1860, and a 4th generation family operated business, 2010 sees our company celebrating its 150th year of service excellence. Located adjacent to J27 on the M62, we serve the whole of the UK and all of our operators are CSCS certified.

A History of JW Crowther & Son Ltd - Centuries of Customer Service
1860 • Founder James William Crowther working with a Fowler traction engine, threshing corn.
1950 • Albert Crowther with one of the first tipper wagons, a Commer Petrol.
1960 • The first pivot steer loading shovel, a JWC Matbro Mastiff at work on site.
1963 • Chaseside Loadmaster, clearing snow in Leeds.
1975 • CAT 955 Tracked Loading Shovel.
1980 • Neville, Geoffrey & Paul Crowther taking delivery of a Leyland Bison 8 wheeler tipper.
1996 • Scarab 7000 Sweeper on a Volvo FL6 chassis working on a large retail park.
2005 • Fleet of Crowther Volvo FM12 8 wheeled tippers.
2007 • Chewing Gum removal at a major retail multiple store.
2008 • The Gritting Company Schmidt gritting unit of a Volvo FL6 chassis.
2008 • Johnson VT650 on a DAF LF chassis
2009 • Addition to the cleansing fleet, a new low pressure, high temperature chewing gum & graffiti removal unit.
2010 • New Valley Tanker Jetter unit on a DAF LF chassis.
2010 • The Gritting Company Gritter on a DAF LG chassis being loaded with salt at one of our central salt warehouses.
